How To Use the Breg Polar Care Wave Cold Therapy System

Any good review of the Breg Polar Care Wave Cold Therapy System wouldn’t be complete without a how-to. Although this machine is so easy to use, it doesn’t need much explanation.

The basic steps are:

  • Fill the cooler with ice and water
  • Attach the hose to the cooler
  • Snap-lock the hose to the compression pad
  • Wrap the pad around your body part
  • Adjust the level of cold and compression

Once you press start, you’ll feel pressure at regular intervals along with therapeutic cold from the ice water constantly flowing through the pad.

If you’re a visual learner, 10-minute-long video to see the Breg Polar Care Wave in action.

Like most cold therapy units, the Breg Polar Care Wave needs to be plugged into the wall to work. And remember, don’t exceed the recommended time limits for cold therapy from your physician. It could result in tissue damage. For these reasons, experts do not advise using cold therapy pads while sleeping.

Pro-tip: If you’re worried about falling asleep while using a Breg cold therapy machine, hook it up to a timer, such as those used for decorative string lights.

Cold therapy has been proven to help control pain, diminish inflammation, and get the joints moving again. Numerous clinical studies show that patients get even more significant benefits when cold therapy is combined with compression.

A system like Polar Care Wave, which combines cold therapy with compression in one easy-to-use, portable unit, can speed up recovery time. Think of it as an investment in your journey back to good health.

Before taking your Polar Care Wave or any cold therapy units home, ask your healthcare provider for detailed usage instructions. This includes how often and long to use it for, the level of pressure and water temperature, and how to inspect your skin for damage.

This machine is so easy to use.

  • Fill the cooler with ice and water
  • Attach the hose to the cooler
  • Snap-lock the hose to the compression pad

Benefits of Compression Socks

Compression socks can help your body in many ways when you wear them correctly. Their main purpose is to improve your circulation, which keeps oxygen-rich blood flowing in your body.

Compression stockings can also:

  • Help prevent and reduce pain and discomfort in your legs
  • Reduce swelling in your legs, feet, and ankles
  • Lessen muscle strain when exercising, which helps you recover faster
  • Protect against blood clots when you sit or stand for long periods
  • Lessen dizziness when you stand up
  • Support your veins to prevent or treat spider and varicose veins

compression socks are specially made socks designed to fit tighter than regular socks. They exert a gentle, graduated pressure on the legs, helping to improve blood flow and reduce pain and swelling.

Proper sizing is crucial for the effectiveness of compression stockings. Measurements are typically taken at various points on the leg to ensure a snug yet comfortable fit. It's recommended to follow sizing guidelines provided by the manufacturer or healthcare provider.

It can reduce redness and discoloration, soften and flatten new and older hypertrophic and keloid scars resulting from surgical procedures, injuries and burns.

Why BIOCORNEUM?

BIOCORNEUM gives you more control over your recovery process.

Scars can be an unwanted visual reminder of a past procedure or injury. But scars are not simply cosmetic. Scar tissue lacks the full function of skin that hasn’t been injured or involved in a surgery. For example, flexibility and the sense of touch may be diminished or completely lost in the scar area. Effectively treating a scar can help to complete your healing process.2,3

BIOCORNEUM can be used on scars resulting from surgical and cosmetic procedures, trauma, wounds and burns, and it can be effective on old or new scars

Easy, Effective Care for Scar Recovery

  • Self-adhering – won’t peel, no tape required

  • Ideal for skin that must flex a lot (such as around joints), irregular surfaces, as well as large scar areas

  • Ideal for face, neck, chest, hands, and other areas exposed to the sun

  • Can be combined with other treatment options your physician recommends

  • Suitable for children over the age of 6 months

The International Clinical Recommendations on Scar Management named silicone as the single most recommended topical (non-invasive) treatment for scars.4

The Science of Scar Reduction

BIOCORNEUM’s key ingredient, FDA-Cleared Silishield® Technology patented crosslinked silicone, advances the benefits of traditional silicone sheeting through the comfort and ease of a gel. Silishield forms a protective shield over the scar area that is optimal for scar healing and cosmetic improvement.

Silishield’s patented technology, made with medical grade silicone, helps to keep skin hydrated and helps control excessive collagen formation that contributes to abnormal scarring.5

Sunscreen products protect the area from sun exposure’s darkening effects while BIOCORNEUM maintains its silky-smooth feel and clear appearance.

You Hold Scar Healing in Your Hand
