Covidien Xeroform Occlusive Petrolatum Gauze Strips and Patches provide an occlusive barrier over wounds, which helps to protect the wound from external contaminants such as bacteria and other microorganisms. It contains 3% bismuth tribromophenate in a petrolatum blend, providing bacterial protection. It is a yellow gauze dressing that has a soft, smooth texture. The petrolatum in the Xeroform occlusive gauze strip helps to keep the wound moist and prevents it from drying out, while the gauze provides a protective barrier against outside contaminants.
